How do I use the SNMPWalk Tool to request an OID?

To run an SNMP Walk Tool OID request for a Device:

  1. As "Admin" in the Statseeker GUI go to the "Console" page.
  2. Select the device you would like the information for in the "Device Filter" pane on the right.
  3. In the "Summary" section on the left sidebar select "Device Viewer".
  4. Select "SNMP Walk" in the left side-bar "Configuration" section in the window that pops up.
  5. Please replace the "1" in the OID box with "sysName".
  6. Then select the "SNMPWalk" button at the top right.
The process should run quickly and return a line like below:
    1721190530 10.100.59.252 2 public 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 SNMPv2-MIB.sysName.0 OCTET-STRING Athens-swt2.example.com
  7. Select the blue "Walk Content" link on the page on the "Download the Walk Content" line.
Then please email the file, which will be in your default download location with a file name like: "snmpwalk-77284608-3779060557-10.100.59.251-2-1-1705301093.log.gz", to Statseeker Technical Support.
