How do I run the Traffic Analyzer Report for a device that we are seeing lost pings for?
Please run the Traffic Analyzer Report for the device by:
Go to the Statseeker Console GUI and select Traffic Analyzer in the General section
- On the page that pops up select the local interface in the Traffic Collector box
- Select nothing in the Favorites box and enter the Range for the period of interest, such as 3pm on the 8th, and select a Duration such as 1 hour
- Enter the IP Address of the device in the Address box like:
inc either 192.168.0.1
- Put the protocol for pings (ICMP) in the Protocol box:
inc icmp.*
- Put 5m in the Interval box
- Then click "Node Protocol Conversations"
The report will then run and show in a new window a count of the outgoing and incoming pings, there should be 20 in each direction for a 5m interval as per the example below:
