How do I move Statseeker to a new VM?

To move Statseeker to a new VM the suggested procedure is:

  1. Install your current version of Statseeker on a new VM.
  2. Apply the current Service Pack to the new instance.
  3. Run a Statseeker full backup on your old Statseeker instance.
  4. Transfer this backup to the new instance.
  5. Shutdown your old Statseeker instance.
  6. Let us know you are ready and we will allow the License Key download for the new Statseeker instance's Hardware ID.
  7. Change new instance to the same IP address as the old Statseeker.
  8. Restore the Statseeker backup on the new instance.

After about 12 hours send us a diagnostics report so we can help check for any issues.

 

This is our "known good" way to move Statseeker and it also has the advantage that should any issues arise the new instance can be shutdown and the old restarted to restore service.
